Q: What first piqued your interest in prevention?
A: In medical school, I realized that they weren’t teaching enough about prevention. I took a two-year sabbatical and got a degree in preventive health. In my 35 years in the ER, I saw its importance firsthand. I would see the same people back repeatedly, being treated for the same thing. What I was doing for them there was not making a long-term difference. The only way to do that is with lifestyle.
Q: What would you say people most commonly misunderstand about health?
A: We live in a society where people are looking for symptom control. They tend to under appreciate the power of the body to repair itself and how much they can influence that ability.
Q: What impact does redox signaling have on the way cells function in the body?
A: As an ER doctor, I can repair a complex wound by physically connecting one side of the damaged tissue to the other. But complex things at the cellular level have to happen for it to actually heal. It turns out redox signaling supports healthy cellular processes.*
Q: What role does ASEA REDOX play in a healthy lifestyle?
A: Redox signaling is the language of our cells. This communication is vital to cell function. It’s also how they access the information in our genes. Cells are constantly wearing out, and redox signaling a vital part of keeping everything in homeostasis—in balance, working like it’s supposed to. Maintaining healthy cells is the key to this balance, and redox signaling molecules are an essential element for maintaining cellular health.*
Q: Why is it significant that redox signaling molecules in ASEA REDOX are native to body?
A: When we put something into the body that’s not native, the body reacts to that. If it’s native, the body doesn’t have to worry about how to manage the strain of molecules. The redox signaling molecules in ASEA REDOX being native to the body makes it a very safe technology. Seeing what ASEA REDOX does for individuals is absolutely amazing. This is by far the biggest breakthrough I’ve seen in my career.
